harvest
lunch

basswood on granite and walnut base
Before
the era of mechanization, harvesting grain was
a very labor intensive task.
The harvesters would spend many hours in the field and generate a huge appetite.
Normally
mid morning and mid afternoon someone would bring
a lunch to the
workers in the field, along with some cold water
freshly drawn from the well.
It was not unusual for the family dog to tag
along, knowing there would be a few
morsels of food in the basket that someone would share with him.
With this in mind "HARVEST LUNCH" was created.
